History

The MTMUA was created in 1961 by an “Act of Township Committee”.

It was chartered to provide water and sewer services. Beginning 2/1/09 the MTMUA became the MTUD, a dedicated utility within the Township.

The Department has around twelve thousand customers and a geographic area of about forty three square miles.

The MTUD also services the adjoining township of Cranbury.

Our Mission Statement

To protect and enhance public health and the natural environment,

we provide Monroe Township with the safe management of quality water and

wastewater facilities through the efficient use of human and physical resources and an open dialogue.
